The judge in Boston placed a two-week hold on a provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that would have stopped Planned Parenthood Medicaid payments for a year.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops ultimately said the bill “currently fails the poorest families,” and urged people to contact lawmakers.

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on June 26 that South Carolina could make the decision to end Planned Parenthood’s participation in the state Medicaid program.
