As the nation heads to the midterm elections Nov. 3, Catholics are working to ensure peace at the polls and help the faithful exercise their right to vote.

In casting his ballot, Pope Leo became not only the first pope to vote in a U.S. election, but also provided what some observers called a timely moral witness.

The report filtered focus-group participants for those who identified as Catholics and said they were undecided in the upcoming elections.

“Legitimate concerns about resources and access to public services merit careful consideration,” the Catholic bishops wrote.
