The “Honoring Those Who Were Enslaved” project is the result of “engagements with the community of descendants of enslaved people in Maryland.”

Cardinal Dolan praised the Society of Jesus for its “luminous apostolate in these acres of the Lord’s vineyard that we call the Archdiocese of New York.”
